Background: Ollie was born to a poorer working class family where he was taught skills at a young age. His mother is a waitress and his father a contractor in construction. He learned to work on cars by repeatedly fixing the family car when they couldn't afford a professional. At 14 he met Rik, a shy and withdrawn musician, at the Copenhagen Zoo. Ollie started sneaking out to see Rik who wasn't allowed to hang around with poor kids. Rik's family saw shame in their friendship. When Ollie learned of of Rik's home life they got closer and eventually started dating. They both got into riding motorcycles and demolition derbies through Rik's friends in local rock bands.

When Rik fled his home, Ollie convinced his parents to let his boyfriend stay. His father, especially, is very fond of Rik. After a few weeks, Rik had to leave to stay safe. The two separated on good terms and still write each other and call often. When Rik and his band released their first album Ollie sent Rik a custom motorcycle.

Ollie went to trade school to be a mechanic and have a sure job when he was through. Known locally as a street racer Ollie was offered a stunt job on a small, local movie shoot. From there he got other jobs until he got a chance to race on a track circuit. He quickly became locally famous and has had some success in the international circuits as well as doing stunt driving in some movies, though nothing big time yet.

Ollie had arrived in LA a full two weeks before this race to get his car in order and accustomed to the American tracks. The whole thing was nerve wracking in an exciting and adrenaline filled way that Ollie loved even if he looked stressed out of his mind. Formula 1 was his favorite of the racing and came right after stunt driving. The Dane was happy, ecstatic that he got an American sponsor.

Unbeknownst to Ollie, Rik had remembered the pit side ticket that he had given the guitarist months ago for this race. Given the tension, though far less now, between Billy and Ollie, he decided not to go. It was a whisper from Aarne that had them both giggling as he took the ticket to Hans early in the day, several hours before the race. They had both noticed how Hans looked at the Dane when he thought no one was paying attention. The two boys would drag the ex-Hammers guitarist to the track and kick his ass out on the track if they had to. Hans had to know it.

For Nexus Prompt 3. “Do you know how far I had to travel to get these?”

Rik had only just gotten Ollie back, able to see him in person and hug him again after nearly two years apart. They weren't lovers any longer but nothing would ever pull the two men from their closeness. Life had bonded them so closely together that time and distance was meaningless. That had been nearly a week ago and two races, the reason that Ollie was anywhere near LA while the bands were there. He had a hell of a time telling Billy he needed to see his old boyfriend alone but eventually the Brit understood that they needed to patch things up before Rik introduced his old and new lovers to each other. Rik understood the fear of abandonment though and knew it needed to be soothed. That was what breakfast was for the next morning.

Now, though, Ollie was the one in for a surprise. They were out driving together, Ollie at the wheel like the entirety of their teenage years. Rik sneaking away and Ollie driving them around. They still sat close, Rik tucked up in the center seat instead of over by the other door. They were still madly in love but it had morphed away from sex and lovers to something else that neither of them quite had words for. Niether thought words were needed.

Rik had told the other Dane they needed to go to the airport, LAX, to pick someone up. No questions came about who as the two enjoyed a long missed routine. They sat at the pick up line by the terminal laughing over stories of both of their careers. Fast paced and full of the craziness that came with fame. It was good to be here.

When the back door openned and the Danish greetings poured out Ollie's voice cut out with such suddeness it was as if the Universe had hit a vocal off switch. He glanced in the review mirror to see who was in the back and the driver's jaw dropped.

“Mikki?” He turned in the seat to get a look, not believing the mirror. The young, blonde Dane in the back only grinned ear to ear at the shock. He could have been Rik's twin though they were cousins. “Mikki!'

Ollie all but climbed into the backseat to hug the younger Dane. They hadn't seen each other for a few years and Rik always worried for his younger cousin when Ollie and the guitarist spoke on the phone.

“The money you sent me.” Rik mentioned but Mikkel finished it.

“Rik got me a ticket here.” The boy had a carry on suitcase and a small bag, all that he owned in the world but the possessions were forgotten in the embrace of the dark haired Dane. Once Ollie sat back into the front seat Mikkel climbed up into the front to snuggle with Rik.

“You didn't tell me.” Ollie accused as Rik gave his younger cousin a loving hug. The relief of Mikkel being safe was palatable in the guitarist's posture and aura.

“We had to smuggle him away.” Rik turned to Mikkel. “Where's your brother?”

Mikkel sighed and glanced at the terminal. His brother was still back home. “We didn't have enough but he went to Norway for now.”

That got an audible sigh from Rik and a hug from Ollie as the three huddled in the front seat. How many times had they done this before, but not in joy. Then it was a matter of fear and pain. Rik smiled and kissed Mikkel's forehead as he always had when they were younger.

“I've got enough, I think, for a ticket from Norway.” Rik mentioned and the nod from Ollie confirmed that they would find a way. It was enough to send the youngest of them into a crying jag that Rik soothed while Ollie started to drive. Mikkel, like Rik, had suffered through childhood at the hands of some of the same people. The two cousins had sought each other in the pain and loneliness that haunted their past. Soon they both were crying. No words were needed because they knew the other's grief as much as their own.

Once they settled into the freeway driving, Ollie ruffled both of the blondes' hair. They sunk into his side, the two cousins wrapped up in each other's arms for protection they didn't really need any longer. This was instinct for them after all the trauma and as they laid down in the seat similar instinct brought Ollie's arm down to rest on their sides.

Ollie watched the road and could feel old tension slipping away. He'd held so much in over the three blonde boys. Even if the remaining one was a couple years older, Ollie worried. He knew the family they endured, had endured them himself on occasion. He couldn't wait for all of them to be free. It was just a matter of money and he had a race tomorrow. A race he set his mind on winning.
